Double Opt-In

Requiring subscribers to confirm via a link in a verification email before being added.

Definition

After someone fills out your signup form, double opt-in sends them a confirmation email with a verification link. Only after they click does their email get added to your list. This protects against typos, malicious signups, and improves deliverability since you only mail verified addresses. Required by GDPR for EU subscribers in most cases. Some markets (like Germany) make it legally mandatory.
